We went there today. The park opened at 8 am. We reached there just about the time and were first one to enter the park. There is a fee payment machine at the entrance which accepts both card and cash. There was a notice that park closes at 7pm.nnThe restroom was super clean but there was no water coming in the taps. There was a notice that restrooms will close at 6 pm. While we were there in the parking area, we saw some more cars coming in. People started going towards the shorter trails near the parking lot which seemed fully shaded.nnWe went towards the Radio Rd. Tail head parking as we planned to go for Summit Loop Trail which is a one way trail as of now. At the trail head we also got some park maps. A few more people came in in this parking area for hiking.nnFirst few minutes of the trail were very cool and shaded due to tall trees. Later the shade was because of mountains blocking the sun. Later once we reached some more elevation it was very sunny without any shade but the winds made it easy for us and have some relief. Many other solo hikers passed us on the route. The views start to become amazing once you reach on the top.nnWe could see three sides of the bay. First we were able to see the Daly City and Lake Merced Park. Then at higher elevation we could also see SF, Twin Peaks and Golden Gate. Further more when we reached at the top of San Bruno Mountain, we could see Serramonte. When we started descending the trail took us to other side of the mountain where we could see Oakland, Almeda and San Leandro. We had to go to couple of view points in the sides of the trail to enjoy the views.nnWe enjoyed the hike as it wasn't that stressful both uphill and downhill. But I would recommend to stay hydrated if you are directly under the sun. I used to wet my cotton facemask and cap to keep my head cool.nnIt took us approx 3hrs. We started around 8.15 am and reached back to parking around 10.45 am.

Fantastic spot that super accessible from downtown SF and allows you to get some nice views of the nature and rolling SF hills. Plenty of parking available and the $5 fee payable by credit card at the entrance is super easy and quick. The drive on the way up is fantastic with lots of curves. Multiple trails and some with fantastic tree cover, other trails have mostly had the trees missing but check out the trail map. Great facilities as well with a bathroom, water fountain, and picnic area all in tip top shape.

It is good for hiking with great views to the city and bay. There are tables and BBQ. Park is open 8:00am to 5:00pm. There is a $5 entrance fee. Good place for short morning hikes. Good for day picnic and BBQ with friends and family.

One of my favorite, close- to- the- city hiking places. The Summit Loop trail takes about 1.5 hours around the western side of the mountain up to the top, and then down the eastern side. Amazing views! If the weather is too hot or too windy there are other trails less exposed to the elements that also have good views of the city.
