I love Planet Granite and was very excited when they opened their doors after the COVID shutdown.nnThey presently require wearing a mask for safety which I was happy to do. However, I do have some personal safety concerns, detailed below.nn1. During a very active belay, my wife's mask slid lower on her face and did not cover her nose. While still belaying someone came over and berated my wife for not wearing a mask properly. This distraction resulted in me being off belay at height for a substantial period in time.nn2. While weightlifting with my mask on I had so much difficulty breathing that I briefly lost my vision. This was during my warm-up sets and hasn't happened before in may years of lifting.nnAs much as it pains me to say this (I do love Planet Granite) I cannot recommend going at the present time. It's not safe, with or without a mask.

Nice place for climbing, but bouldering section was pretty small. Also, there was a youth bouldering team that came in midway through my shift and took over one bouldering section. The coach was apologetic and encouraged me to ask them to move if need be, but there were just too many people in that bouldering section. Would be nice to know that that will be happening when you register for a timeslot.

Great rock gym with a homey feel.nStark contrast from sunnyvale-nSolid weight/machine facilities as well as a good rope section.nnBoulders are very stout and well set here, but the other area gyms have better bouldering areas. gym does have 2 moon boards though

I always feel very welcome visiting here. The place is super clean, has a great variety of equipment, and never feels too crowded.

Really fun place! Not too much people which is a good thing because of covid. Staff is friendly and the old theater setting his a cool nostalgic feel.
