Making us come in and cancel membership when Covid19 is going on!!! Safety is not a first priority for this Gym

They closed my location so the moved my membership to the next closest gym which was 5x further away (without telling me) so they could keep charging me. Had to wait on hold for 30 mins to cancel and wouldn't refund any charges...

Buyers Beware: they are clingy and make it difficult to cancel.nnI attended the gym prior to COVID-closing, and have since moved and found new a new, local gym. I found I was charged as soon as this gym reopened and went online to cancel.nnWe are unable to cancel online, unlike virtually any other service. The instructions were to go out of ourrway and mail in the cancellation contraction, obviously in order to make cancelling more inconvenient so they can keep charging you, because why else is snail mail the mandatory medium in 2020? I did so, only to learn that the particular gym location I'd previously attended was shut down and no one would be able to process the cancellation.nnI then called another branch and asked them to cancel my account, they said they couldn't over the phone (again, TOO convenient) but if I went IN PERSON to any branch that they could do it for me. Being a 9-5, M-F worker, I stopped at this location at 5:30 on Friday only to be told I had to come in person between 9-3, M-F to cancel because only one person could do it and they conveniently work inconveniently-limited hours, but that I could MAIL their gym the cancellation and they could do it. Okay, so mailing is the only way, right? So then I ask--because I'm already there--if I could print and fill out the form there for the person to process Friday. He said no, but that he could print it, and I could go to the post office next door and mail it to them...nnI know it's not his fault that their policies are beyond stupid and that his gym basically scams people on their way out, but it's ridiculous. So many extra steps just to cancel my membership I'm getting an extra workout from them anyway.

OMG good to be reading these comments. I just signed up in August with my son we were told the basketball court was open and that there wouldn’t be an annual fee. When the trainer went over the paperwork with me he made it clear that there would be no annual fee. He gave me a blank paper to sign and said that his manager would also sign it, my daughter is a witness. 2 months later I get a call that my son and I both have to pay an annual fee, something I would have not agreed to. I had a gym membership at a different facility before and never had to pay any annual fee. If they try to do to you what they did to me I will fight them with my bank and bbb. They are a scam and this a shady way to do business.
