Quick hike to a large rock painted like a pumpkin. Given that it’s October, a friend and I figured it would be very seasonal to check this spot out. When you put in directions, you’ll be driving through neighborhoods and you should look for a park entrance in order to find the trailhead. There’s plenty of street parking available. Be mindful of making your own trail - I tried and slid down the hill (so ended up with some nice scrapes and bruises for that venture!). Just go up the trail - it’s well laid out and it’s a very quick walk uphill to the rock. You could continue to other trails at the top as well.nnNo shade at all so bring lots of water. The rock itself is cool (although unfortunately there’s some graffiti on the back and bottom) and lends some shade. The walk back down might be a little tricky if you’re wearing sneakers, so take it slow. Dogs are allowed. No bathrooms are available.

Fun trail for the kids, but no shade so I recommend doing this hike early in the morning. Also, it can get pretty crowded around pumpkin rock itself, especially closer to Halloween so same recommendation. Come early or be prepared to wait in a really long line to take pictures. There's other painted rocks to look at too which are pretty neat and my kid has fun climbing the boulders around pumpkin rock. So definitely recommend this as a kid friendly hike. Views are pretty spectacular too.

It was awesome. Highly recommended!!!. There are other trails you can try along that route. Great experience. Expect to line up if you trying to take pictures. Well worth it and the drive to go over there.

Super cute and super quick hike. Plenty of space for social distancing and had a great view of the neighborhood horses from the top. It's pretty much all up hill so make sure you wear the appropriate shoes for steep incline/decline

Been here four or five times, never been crowded until today! Maybe because of covet, or maybe because it's so close to Halloween. A lot of people on the trail and a line of people waiting to take picture with big pumpkin rock. 1.75 mile loop, steep but doable climb on the way up, flatter on the way out. No shade So don't attempt it in the summertime
