El Maistro is the most honest transmission shop around. They do quality work as well. I had some issues with my vehicle, and instead of up charging me and doing all kinds of unnecessary work it was only hundred dollar fix. And this was after I got a quote for over $1000 at another transmission shop.

You might want to consider a different transmission shop if you’re considering having work done at El Maistro Transmission. I’ve had 3 transmissions done here. The first went bad within a month and a half. But El Maistro did stand behind their work and fixed it. The second transmission I had rebuilt here was a good one. No problems. The third one I had rebuilt recently is junk. I have taken it back 3 times for transmission leaks which is one of the most common signs of a transmission going bad. It doesn't shift right. It slams downshifting from 4th to 3rd if you hit a grade or need to pick up speed, and then slams back into 4th gear when it upshifts back into 4th gear. It also clunks when downshifting from 2nd to 1st as you come to a stop. Rough, hard shifts is another one of the most common signs of a transmission going bad. I’ve taken back to El Maistro several times about this issue just to have them tell me that it’s supposed to shift that way. When a transmission is shifting hard and rough and has fluid leaks it’s obvious that something is wrong. But El Maistro Transmission refuses to admit that something is wrong and fix it. Instead they offered to find another used transmission and rebuild it and replace my transmission with that one for $1200. But I ended up with a junk transmission that they rebuilt and charged me $2000. So what am I going to get for $1200? If they took pride in their work and stood behind their work, they would fix the one that I already paid $2000 for. I don't believe they took the transmission out of my truck and rebuilt it.nThe reason why is:nI put a zip tie in an area on the transmission, and they would have had to cut that zip tie in order to remove the trans. But the zip tie is still right where I put it. There’s no way they could have removed the Transmission.nFinally had to get rid of the truck because the transmission that El Maistro ripped me off on was a P.O.S. and I couldn't afford to get it rebuilt by an honest transmission shop.

It was a hundred dollar transmission problem and that's what it cost. Honest mechanics.
