San Juan Islands National Monument

A must goto place to unwind. When out of town friends visit, take them there for a spectacular view of the blue Pacific ocean. Breath taking. They may get lucky and catch a glimpse of whales. I figured I'll must go to get away from it all and got lucky twice with whales. I didn't take the whale tours. Must watch them from overlooks using binoculars.

The ferry ride of course is always fun. We went to Friday Harbor because we walked onto the ferry and it's the island that you can walk around. Everyone there kind, helpful and friendly. We were there all day so we visited a couple different restaurants. The food was excellent the beverages were wonderful. The town is beautiful clean inside and out. Excited to get to go back again.

San Juan Island is a total jewel! Go see the foxs and the rabbits! Some of the best rock hounding ever!! Accommodations are hard to find at best. Make it a day trip and walk on the ferry to save cash!!

What's not to love about the San Juan Islands? I mean seriously, the trip out is always so beautiful, even during the storms we get here. The Islands themselves are all beautiful, including the uninhabited islands. Orcas Island is my husband's and my favorite island, staying in Eastsound at the Outlook Inn annually and sometimes twice a year. Just lovely, absolutely lovely.

Lovely place. I love water and the calmness of the area.
