The 2017 Santa Rosa fire deeply impacted this winery for sure. Their website turned into an unrelated page, and one phone number listed on the Calistoga Passport was disconnected. However, my final attempt to the other listed number went through and we had a chance to enjoyed an 1.5 hour talk to the owner Charlie. He's apparently passionate about his wine, his family, and his life in general. We ended up buying three bottles.

Great experience with a personal touch. Charlie is wonderful and makes the tour educational and enjoyable. A wonderful person with a wonderful set of wines! Definitely will return.

We recently visited here during our trip to Calistoga. While the grounds have been devastated by the local fires (with the private residence, tasting room, and associated antiques gone) this does not take away from the history, or more importantly the wine.nnWe had a make shift wine tasting (due to the aforementioned fire damage) which was one of the best, if not the best, tasting we had the entire trip. The owner took extensive time to explain the history of the location, its organic roots, as well as the future with a guided tour of the grounds. This was specifically why we came to Calistoga. To learn about the hands and hearts that created the wine we drink.nnRegarding the wine, we tasted quite a few different Bordeaux blends ranging from a classic French style, to a more California style, to something in the middle. We picked up a bottle of the mid version and looking forward to a nice pasta dinner to share it with soon.nnThank you again for such a memorable experience. See you next year when we come back!
