One thing, your car might take a slight beating on The drive.... That being said, so worth it, such Beautiful views!! Might I add that it's nice to see a park that has been kept clean, the trails are well kept, yet nothing takes away from nature. The facilities look like they could use a scrubbing, but still kept stocked. And all maps/notices are updated and clearly visible. No signs of vandalism, no trash floating around. Awesome!!

A lovely park, not crowded.nnWe parked at the main park parking lot, and there's a number of small trails and loops that leave from there. There's also a bathroom in the parking lot.nnCurrently the rate for parking is $1 per person, payable by cash and left at the entrance (not supervised, the ranger comes to pick up later). Leave your cash in the envelope and in the box, and leave the receipt on your dashboard.nnWe did a pretty short hike, maybe 5 or 6 km, there are several loops to choose from. The trails are very nice to walk on, and it's very peaceful. Some nice views of either side of the range (facing towards the ocean and inland).

Nice trails for day hiking. Beautiful views of the bay. Free if you’re military like me.

There’s a gate added to prevent cars entering from the Monhollan/Olmsted Rd, so you have to walk additional 2-3 miles to the main entrance of the park, and you’re at your own risk if you’re sensitive to air quality. Yes, people are still allowed to go inside and all hiking trails are open. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to exercise and walk your dog.

The locals don’t want the tourists finding this place. They have removed all the signs identifying the entrance. If you can find it, the entrance fee is totally worth it if you like to hike.
