Please go slow. If your going to drive fast, what's the point? You will miss all the breath taking scenery, not only that, you have to pay money to do this amazing scenic drive. Take YOUR TIME, stop, get out, and walk around.

Such a gorgeous drive to meander through. Take your time and stop often. Take a walk on the beach and just soak it all in.

The OG here is the 17-mile drive. What to tell about it which has not been shared online before? Full of different greenery, both terrestrial and aquatic. Also this is a rare place to find all different kind of animals just on the way. The funny thing is I always looked for a specific place of the same name where you will find multi-colored, gem-like stones on the beach, but that is something called Glass Beach in more north.nn//////////nnI know this is not a review for a freeway, but I am dying to mention it. I have been here at least ten times now, most of the times with someone new to California. I think I have mentioned the super-cool biodiversity around it in some other reviews too. Even I wrote an entire blog in local guide forums. The one thing I am yet to do is to start from the southern side and ending up in Monterey.

Extraordinary road that goes through beaches, lookouts, a bird rock, forests and ends at the beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea beach, besides, of course, its great attraction: the Lone Cypress, the picturesque tree of approximately 250 years old that stands alone on a granite pedestal!nnRoad access costs U$ 10.50 per car.

Beautiful drive and nice way to spend an afternoon. There is a bunch of different marked view points with nice sites and you can just stop along the way. There is also beaches if you want to get out and relax a bit. Get to see some of the golf courses and plenty of the ocean. Costs $10.50 to get in with a car, but if you stop at one of the money restaurants you get that back. Suggest stopping at the Inn at Spanish Bay at the end and having a drink and some food by the firepits and if you get there at the right time you can see the piper come in playing the bag pipes to close the course for the day. Great way to spend an afternoon in Carmel!
