Great place to dock for free during the day and walk around Gig. Most of the harbor is easy to anchor if you don't want to pay the overnight dock fee.

This a solid public dock. The only real detractor is that it's not very large and it's also used as a public access down to the water so if you're looking for security or privacy that's not an option here, as there is a constant stream of people walking down to the end of the dock to fish or go swimming. The facilities are very nice with modern private shower/baths (see photos) that are clean, power and water for your boat and a cool observation deck above the bath facilities building at the head of the dock. One thing to know about Gig Harbor for cruisers, there is no real grocery store within walking distance of the harbor. We had to insta cart from Fred Meyer which is almost 2 miles away. Definitely hit the Tides Tavern while you're here. Food is great!
