I thought Matt was very pleasant to work with... initially. He is a friendly guy. He was able to sell me a mower that we both knew needed some work done on it to make it right. He offered to help with the repairs and assured me he would be happy to make it right. I would send him the part numbers of the faulty parts and he would compensate me for them.
Well... to make a long story short he didn't do what he said he would. He can't be trusted. I wasn't able to get in touch with him after the sell unless I used a different phone number that he didn't recognize. He would answer with a different number but not when I called using my number. He is good at making promises and not following through. I would not trust he will do what he says he will do. I had the mower fixed by a reputable dealer and it ended up costing me over $2000.00 to get it running. I wasn't asking him to pay the whole bill but wanted some compensation for what he agreed with me he would do. Mostly to help with the bearings that were shot and the rear wheels, tires and pinion. He gave me no response and he didn't try to make it right. He avoids you after he gets your money. Be warned. His smooth selling skills are trumped by his lack of support and follow through.
Please don’t get anything from Matt. He’s nice to your face but misadvertises his inventory for the sale and then will not return messages when you explain that you didn’t get what you paid for and you’re having problems.
He sold me an Aliner A frame pop up trailer that was advertised as being camping ready. He told me that it had 11 gallons of water in it and the listing included features it did not have like outside speakers and outside lighting. There is one small light and no speakers. And it had water in it, but as soon as I turned on the water pump, because I picked up the trailer and went camping immediately, all the water came out the bottom because of a missing plug. Then the first time it rained, the whole camper was soaked inside, through my new mattress and into the couch cushions.
Matt obviously didn’t inspect this thing at all. I didn’t mention that I’m a single mom and am dealing with this trailer by myself and I later learned that it exceeds my car’s towing capacity. Yes I should have done more research, but again, Matt only cares about the sale. Now I have to assess the damages and weigh if it’s worth taking him to small claim’s court. Thanks Matt!
I must admit Matt was great to work with at the beginning, he helped pay for the bimi top that he ripped and was quite cordial. He warrantied the machine for 7 days, due to weather I was unable to ride it until 10 days after purchase. When I took it out the low gear was shot and both CV joints were leaking. I tried to contact Matt twice via text to no avail. I am now stuck with a machine with thousands of dollars in repairs. I understand I bought it "as is" but I feel like Matt should have helped me with getting it repaired.
Swell motors is a local guy that buys stuff at several auctions and brings them into town. It seems one of his biggest products are dirt bikes of all makes and models. His prices are usually very reasonable and the bikes are good looking bikes. I have been looking for a specific bike and he's offered to keep his eye out and let me know.. pretty cool.
