Mitch Berger Technical Services

Just was ripped off by Mitch Berger Technical Service. I have a vintage Neve 1073 that needed to be serviced. I had used Mitch many years ago and remembered he had done a decent job. But when I received my 1073 and after a few drama filled days dealing with him the pre amp was still non functional. On top of this he had taken a purple permanent marker and had wrote and marked all over the inside and outside of this 45 year old antique pre amp. When I contacted him about the pre amp not working and about how he had defaced my 1073 he was defensive and demanded I bring the 1073 right back to him. I was so put off by the way he had treated the pre amp and his arrogant attitude towards me I decided to take it to another technician who I trust and have known for years. This technician tested the parts that Mitch had removed and said they were actually fully functional. New technician did find a capacitor and a transistor (that Mitch had missed) that indeed needed to be replaced. So this time the 1073 was functional. But this second service was not free of course. When I asked for a Pay Pal refund from Mitch he ignored me and/or made wild claims about his 'policies' when charging for his services. Except the only service he provided was taking my money, wasting my time and defacing my Neve, I can't force him to refund my money but I would advise others to avoid him.

Never returned my item and wouldn't return emails.
