It's an incredible and very rare historic site. Rarely do you get to see the wealth of historical artifacts for the San Fernando valley and have those items be intact. The Adobe itself is beautifully preserved, although some changes had been made to the original structure it still has it's authenticity. Many thanks to the people who maintain this place.

It is a truly magical place perfect for spending a Sunday. Without a doubt it is one of the best adobe houses in all of Los Angeles.

This place is amazing. So much history of the valley and the docients r volunteers. There's much to learn and historic relics to bring the past to life. An awesome way to spend Mondays.

Probably the first time i have given a negative review to a historical park. The 2 story adobe is impressive. Unfortunately, the docents were less so. It is filled with furniture from the 1890's era which arrived there as another historic building was torn down around the time this became a museum. All the descriptions of the items were superficial, nothing about their relevance or what came before. Some details (no Monopoly was not played in the 1880's) were inaccurate and the narrative jumped back and forth between era's with little attempt to take you through the process of how anything came to be.nnIt was pretty much was a listing of the items they had. Some are impressive like the player piano which is pump action. The reading room has a collection of items from the developers Van Nuys and Lankershim, but nothing about how they came to power and what they did.nnThings really got weird at the Native American room. A collection of one person's arrowheads and a few other artifacts filled the room. Nothing about how they were decimated by the arrival of the spanish and later the US. The docent went out of his way to justify the spanish's subjugation stating it was justified to teach them the one true religion. Even the Mission, a few blocks away, does not gloss over history like that.nnGo to one of the State Historic Parks instead.
