We went here really excited that we didn't have to go all the way to Seattle to go axe throwing since we live in the south end. after we were greeted signed the waivers and told to go down stairs to the axe throwing area where we were crammed with over 30 people for 3 lanes in a tiny area plus there were small children. Not only is this to many people for the lanes provided but no covid protocol what so ever. the axes are worn out not sharp, handles falling off etc. other groups were walking in between the thrower and the target, the throwing area for all lanes is a common area and not separated. also people for other events walking to there space are walking right in front of the thrower. then the topper is that the target board was so chewed up that none of the throwing axes and knives would stick. I called the customer service number provided on the website and talked to someone they said i should of asked them to replace the targets. my thought is it should have been done before my arrival, just want i want to do wait 1/4 of my allotted time to change out the target. i asked for a refund because i firmly believe the did not provide a safe or fun experience but was refused. so there you go. the axe throwing places I've been to before this had it far more together. not sure how their other events are but I can only imagine
We were in the Secrets of the Master room at 6:30 pm on Halloween. When we arrived the staff did not seem very interested in helping us Nor were they concerned that there were no paper towels in the restroom. We got no overview of what or how the room works. The room was dirty, not in a way that would enhance the room but in a dirty mess that had not received any recent attention. As time ran out a staff member came in to let us know that we had not escaped. We explained what steps we had taken only to be told that we were doing it correctly but one of the magnets on the wall sometime doesn’t work. We had the item on the magnet for at least 15 minutes and thought that we needed to find another solution. The staff member kind of shrugged and seemed to be put off with having to deal with us. She did give us 5 additional minutes which was, of course, not enough time to make any progress. I am from AZ and three of our party had recently completed a room in the Mesa location. That was a completely different and extremely exciting experience. I will go to the Mesa location again but the Tacoma location is a complete thumbs down. It was a lot of money to spend for such a disappointing experience.
I found a Groupon for the Secrets of the Master room, and paid $55 for our group. It’s typically $35 for each person. The host was super friendly and helpful. The three of us finished the room within the hour and used two of our clues. It was easy to navigate and overall was very fun. Some of the transitions didn’t work properly, but we didn’t have to wait to long for them to work. For the Groupon price I feel it was well worth it. I hope the other rooms are just as fun.
Really fun had a great time
I've definitely had better escape room experiences. The staff was friendly and moderately attentive. The room, however, was not the cleanest, many of the props were broken, and the audible clues couldn't be heard over the music being broadcast through the speakers, which wasted valuable time as they cannot be repeated.nnWith that being said, the room was fairly challenging, but my frustration with the aforementioned factors really negatively impacted the overall experience.
