We just got home from a fabulous long weekend at Camp Nauvoo. My husband and I joined my sister, her husband, and two kids (7 & 4 years old) and all of had a great time. The lodge was closed due to Covid 19, but that didn't effect our stay at all. We were in the two large clamping tents, which were quite large. The queen size bed was super comfortable, and there was plenty of seating at each tent, including 6 Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, and another small table with chairs where we put together a jigsaw puzzle:)nnThe tents bordered the stream, where the kids played most of the day. There are bathrooms with showers, a sink to do dishes.... I couldn't think of anything they missed. The owner was super friendly, and even lent our niece a fishing pole. Highly recommend!
My family and I had an amazing time at camp Nauvoo, we stayed 3 days and two nights, this place was so beautiful and peaceful, we enjoyed our stay, when we arrived I meet Greg he was very respectful, nice, and welcoming, he was also very helpful when we needed help, the area was very cleaned the bathrooms were also kept clean, later that day I meet his wife Laurie she was also very nice, and respectful. My family were treated with respect and kindness, this is a very family friendly place, we felt really safe at camp, we enjoyed the volleyball court, very much, Greg and Laurie was so excited to see us playing volleyball they even took a few pictures, they said they were waiting for a family to play because they hadn’t seen anyone playing. We stayed in the Glamping tent #1, it was right next to the creek and waking up in the morning to the sounds of the water literally feet away was amazing, we also meet some really nice people that were camping as well, we really enjoyed our stay, we will be planning our next trip there soon!! I would give this place ten stars if I could!! I want to say thank you to Greg and Laurie for being so nice and welcoming to our family, and sharing their beautiful place with us!!nI can’t wait to plan the next trip there!!
Hidden gem! Beautiful and clean place. Nice getaway. Excellent hospitality. We will definitely be back :)
We’ve been two camp nauvoo three summers in a row now. Usually we go in July and it is HOT during the day and nice and cool at night (cold enough to wear a beanies some nights!). This was our first time camping Memorial Day weekend and the day time temps were perfect, but night was pretty cold! Next time we will bring hand warmers to stick in our sleeping bags. It was also a bit damp in the mornings asnwe stayed on the meadow in the big group site 16. Be prepared to rent a few propane canisters from Greg when it is that cold! The kids played endlessly in the creek and In the meadow and on the playground. We took the older kids (9-11) on the two mile hike on the property and it was quite the adventure! The facilities are always well maintained and the camp host is great at making sure you have everything you need. Bummed the lodge was closed but other than that, it felt like a normal covid-free camping trip!! We’ll be back for sure.
The moment we enter the camp host(Greg) was very rude to us. The whole time we were signing paperwork he made plenty or rude remarks. Quiet time at 10pm is ridiculous for camping. Only coming up to us to quiet down and Not the group underneath us who made just as much noise as us showed how discriminating it us since we were browns. Our group were inviting more people with them and we we trying to accommodate them by renting another campsite and they said there was none as they were all booked, yet Both campsites next to us were vacant the whole time we were there. Just say you didn’t want us to be there and bring more people then lie to us. The water area is very dirty and everything they say they provide for example a volleyball and basketball is not true. Never coming back to camp nauvoo ever again.
