We would like to thank Tito and his crew for the great work they've done. They showed up with PPE, and honored social distancing while doing their job. They removed the popcorn ceiling from our kids rooms and painted did a wonderful two tone colors while adding crown molding to the rooms. Thank you Tito and your crew for being so respectful and professional. The kids LOVE their rooms.
I met Tito is 2013 when looking to purchase our home. My Real Estate agent called Tito while I considered submitting an offer on the property, which relied on our ability to flip a 375 square foot unit into a studio. Tito showed up on the spot, followed-up with a quote and had the studio move-in ready in 6 weeks. Fast forward to 2020, he’s also remodeled our kitchen, master bathroom, deck, built a storage unit under my deck, removed a fire place from the living room, painted many interiors rooms of the house, including the full exterior and now a garage remodel. I always thought Roja Construction would return to remodel my 2nd bathroom next, but shelter in place changed that as we looked for more space to work from home.nnI called Tito on a whim, thinking this project might be too small for him. He showed up the next day, provided a quote a few days later and started the following week. He told us two weeks for garage remodel and the project only went over two additional days for final touches. The bulk of the project was complete as anticipated, but some additional time was needed for the cement floor to dry. The remodel was a big project which included demolition, re-framing the attic to use for storage, an access door to the attic, dry wall and texture throughout, new electricity, recessed lighting, a light in the attic re-framing of the exterior door a brand new window installation for natural lighting, restored our garage floor which was horrendous and looks absolutely beautiful for a fraction of the price of new concrete. We couldn’t be happier with the garage and framing the ceiling. The additional cost to reinforce the attic is well worth the storage space gained.nnWorking with Rojas Construction has always been about more than the project. Tito is very pleasant to work with, a great communicator, he’s fair, his crew is professional, punctual, clean, trust worthy, and he’ll do his best to meet the deadline. Our two daughters are also very fond of him as they’ve grown up around him while he’s worked on our house. Our neighbor even told us how impressed they were with the cleanliness of Tito's crew. Tito has become a household name.nnIt’s been 7 years and well over $150,000 in home remodel projects. We only have two more project until the house is complete and will return to Tito once we save enough.nnI highly recommend Tito and his crew at Rojas Construction & Remodeling.
The pest report for our new home showed we had dry rot under our stucco. We met with several contractors. None of them were willing to give us an estimate on the cost of repair. The one ballpark we got was unbelievably expensive! There were also different approaches to doing the repair, from just a patching job or complete removal of the stucco. We felt that complete removal of the stucco was the right way to go so that we could have peace of mind that all of the dry rot had been found. Tito was the only contractor willing to give us a written estimate. He gave us a detailed estimate for each phase of the job, telling us the most it would be if there was substantial dry rot found after the stucco removal.nnBecause we had a definitive number, we were able to add other aspects to the job, such as adding shear walls and insulation to our house.nnOnce we removed the stucco we discovered MUCH more dry rot than had been indicated in the pest report. Tito never went beyond his original budget. We also discovered that there was almost no framing for the front porch. Even though this wasn't in the original scope of the work, Tito and his crew put framing in for the porch without adding to the budget.nnTito is warm and friendly and we enjoyed working with him. That goes for his crew as well. They are also NEAT! Each day they made our house looks as clean as possible when they left and were prompt with hauling off debris.nnWe are so glad we went with Tito and Rojas construction. He was the only contractor we met with who understood that we couldn't just dive into this job without having any idea of what it would cost.nnTito made sure that we were satisfied with our home before he signed off. We would definitely hire Rojas Construction again.
Tito's team did a fantastic job with our 120 square foot master bathroom & closet addition, plus a guest bathroom remodel. Despite some inspection delays and rainy weather, he was still able to meet his estimated deadline to finish the job on time.nnCOST/PRICING: The total cost of the project was very reasonable, and we even got 3 other quotes beforehand to compare and make sure we were getting a good deal. Tito even through in a couple extra items to make sure we felt like we were a fair deal.nnPROFESSIONALISM: Tito's crew were kind, respectful, and showed up every day promptly. We knew exactly what to expect, with the team showing up at 7:30 and out by 4:30 every day, which gave us peace of mind that they were reliable. They cleaned up after themselves before they left each day which we really appreciated, as we decided to sleep in our living room for the duration of the project. Any time we had an appointment scheduled, Tito was prompt and professional.nnCOMMUNICATION: This is the one area where Tito (self-admittedly) has room for improvement. I noticed there are several poor reviews listed here, and most of them are around communication. Tito and I worked well together because I was very involved in the project, proactively asking lots of questions and sending emails/texts to confirm weekly progress, purchases, etc. Tito can be a great communicator if you meet him half way and make an effort to stay informed. Also, I worked from home when I could so that I could check in on the guys. Being that I'm fluent in Spanish, it did make it easier to work closely with them on the details, but they all speak a little English, so it wouldn't have been a problem either way.nnCRAFTSMANSHIP: Wow his team is talented!! They did such an incredible job working efficiently and seamlessly to create our dream bathroom. The tile work was fantastic, and all of the new doors/trim/finishes were done with such detail and care. You can tell that they're all very proud of the work they do. It's never rushed and always done with precision.nnATTITUDE/FLEXIBILITY: Very positive energy from all of them. Always very reasonable and listened to our requests, even when we'd change our mind in the middle of something, or decide to add something onto the existing project. For instance, we decided to add new doors and trim more than halfway through the project, and Tito was more than happy to accommodate, and even met me at Economy Lumber to help me purchase the perfect doors.nnTRUST: This is the biggest one for us. We needed a contractor and a crew we could trust with our house while we were away at work. We needed assurance that we wouldn't be taken advantage of, or duped in any way. Any with Rojas Construction we felt super comfortable, which is important during an inherently stressful renovation.nnWould highly recommend Tito and his crew, and I know we'll definitely use them for our next remodel (c'mon new kitchen 2020!!!).
We hired Tito to remodel our two bathrooms and we liked the work so much that when we needed to repair a detached studio and to update our laundry room, we did not think twice before asking Tito again. One of the best things about Tito is that he really considered our unique situation and strived to achieve our goals within our budget. In addition to being well trained, his crew was very respectful of our space during the work.nnBefore starting the full remodel of our two bathrooms we contacted at least 3 contractors whom were either trying to up-sell, overprice the project, or just weren’t very helpful. Tito was recommended by a friend and we were happy with his reasonable pricing and quality of work. We had an idea about the bathroom design before meeting Tito but Tito’s consultation visit helped us to finalize our concept.nnBased on our positive experience, 6 months later we asked Tito to update our unfinished laundry room and to fully repair a studio that was damaged by mold and dry rot. Little did I know that I could file a successful home owner’s insurance claim for this damage and Tito was especially helpful describing the damage to my insurance agent. Again we were happy with the result and Tito did a great job reviewing design concepts to prevent future water damage.nnOne drawback was that we experienced delays and some rushing towards the end of the projects. However, we still are pleased with the finished product. Overall, we recommend Tito and his crew for your remodel projects. The quotes are reasonable for current Bay Area pricing and Tito cares that you are happy with the results.
