Thank G!d. A warm community. A place for the Divine Feminine to rest and rejoice with the Jewish People. Come for the herring and stay for conservations. You might run into a Professor or a mystic mediator. A great place to grow in one's Jewish identity and build community. Highly recommended!!

Came for one year, stayed for 41. Only schul I know where no one leaves after services in order to socialize at Kiddush קידוש

Wow! Absolutely blown away by this community and synagogue when I first moved to Berkeley! When I was looking for a graduate program I was also prioritizing a great Jewish environment that was accepting and comfortable for all walks of life.I have met my close friends through CBI and Rabbi Cohen and Maharat Victoria are both super welcoming and easy to talk to. I feel comfortable approaching all members of the congregation just to introduce myself at kiddush post services or ask around for a place for Shabbat lunch for me and my wife. They are also super women-friendly and host numerous women's prayer services and events.
