The Islamic Association of immigrants (masjid of muhajireen) was established in 1990 when a handful of Muslims raised $500,000 to purchase a religious building at 185 Folsom Avenue, Hayward, CA. The structure had been a Catholic church whose congregation had outgrown the 3,000 square feet.nThis Islamic Association of Immigrants mission is to secure a religious, educational, and family life center for Hayward area community to meet its spiritual, cultural, social, civic needs.
