My four year old really enjoys his time at this place. Jamie and Mike are great with younger children and exhibit a good amount of patience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to provide their child structure, discipline, exercise and an enjoyable time.nnThe instructors ensure all participants are practicing good hygiene and maintaining space in-between exercises and activities. Hand sanitizer is available and in depth cleaning is done to the mats and equipment prior to each class.

This facility and staff are amazing with kids and confidence boosting! It has been an incredible experience for my 6 year old!

Gracie Barra Stafford is a place where you genuinely find Coaches and a Professor who cares for their students. Their devotion and commitment to the team is by far like nothing I have ever seen. My daughter started training two years ago this coming April 2021 and I can honestly say she has grown in so many ways due to her training. She has found a strong sense of self confidence , fitness, and values above all else the ability to be a member of a team that supports one another and works together to move to the next level. The guidance and instruction of her Professor and Coaches has given her the confidence and the ability to not only be able to practice jiu-jitsu but to be able to truly be a part of a team. Gracie Barra Stafford is second to none for BJJ in Northern VA. Professor Thiago brings more than two decades of high level experience and world class competition proven techniques. Coach Jamie is a pan-am and world masters medalist with years of knowledge and experience to share. All of the higher ranked people help out the newer people. Instructions are clear and the techniques work. I recently won 1st place in my division in my first tournament. The children’s program is a great balance of fun and learning. I’m in the process of persuading my wife to let me bring my 5 year old....to be continued. This academy is a safe place to grow as a person through BJJ and there is value in each and every class. I’ve been training here since last August, but it feels like longer. I recommend this academy to anyone interested in BJJ, fitness, self defense, and finding out what they’re capable of. Come try a class! You’re sure to sweat and laugh at least once.
