Stafford County Circuit Court

Most people don't leave positive feedback and only leave negative feedback to complain. Well I went to the Court House twice and I love the guards and the people who work there. They are very professional, friendly, fast, polite and efficient even during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you very much for taking care what I needed when I went there, I really appreciate it.

Don’t even bother calling the number. They just loop you through a network of three different answering machines and insist that’s supposed to happen. Don’t know why I expected better from stafford county though.

Great service from the court clerks today, didn’t need to wait in the line outside because I wasn’t there for a court hearing so I was sent right inside. Submitted my documents with the clerks help and was in and out in about five minutes, all the clerks were cordial and respectful, pretty good for government service.

Tried calling the clerk twice this week to discuss my positive Covid test and each time she said “come in, just wear a mask”. I literally could infect everyone I come into contact with but there is 0 care for public safety at this place. The clerk was rude, condescending, and overall unpleasant. I had to say “okay. I get it. Thank you” for her to stop her angry tangent just to hang up. You are not safe at this courthouse. Ask for a continuation until we have a vaccine because there people, namely the county clerk, has to be regard for Stafford’s or its visitors health and well being in mind. If they could make you walk on glass shards, they would.

My fiancé and I visited to get a marriage license—the process was flawless and much faster than we expected. The online application we completed the day prior took about five minutes, and we were in and out of the courthouse in just 15 minutes with license in hand. Everyone was very friendly, from the officers who greeted us at the door to screen us (COVID-19 and security), to the clerks. As a bonus, we were able to get our prenuptial agreement notarized here as well due to some very friendly and helpful staff members. Definitely worth the hour drive out here (from the DMV area) to get these things done. Would highly recommend!
