What a lovely venue and top notch service! My wife and I recently went for our anniversary and it was just wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, wine is delicious, and Molly, who was the server while we were there was just excellent. Can't wait to return!

Marchesi does not make a bad wine, period. I have a lot of wineries that I really like...then there's Marchesi. Second to none.

Best place in Hood River for Wine Tasting. Beautiful, friendly, and incredible Italian wines. Absolutely my favorite

Every wine is great. It's rare I get a flight and like every single one- alot!nGreat atmosphere, staff and highly recommend. Best in the area in my book.nn2020 update- really bummed to downgrade my review from five to three but my third experience at Marchesi really left me disappointed.nnFirst off, the positive: Good Covid guidelines and measures taken that I appreciated (could be better stated online); Staff was friendly upon arrival and the two gals who seated and served were kind and welcoming. The scenery is stunning. Good space for seating and it’s the kind of winery I could linger at and really enjoy.nnNormally, and in the two previous visits, I absolutely loved every wine. Seriously, it was 4-5 stars. But this year’s tasting was “just okay” for both me and my partner. They were drinkable but not as good as prior years. And after talking it up, my partner wasn’t as blown away as I expected on her first time. I could chalk that up to personal palettes or differing years and harvests as a possible reason. But this year nothing compelled me to buy a bottle.nnThe less than awesome: the price for tasting was $20 per person for five wines. The pours were standard as is the price, but we were given an abrupt “no” when we asked if they discounted tasting for buying a bottle(s). I was a little surprised and put off by that since nearly all wineries do that. Additionally, I asked for two extra wines (Barbera and Sangiovese) in the tasting and it was an additional $6 per person! $52 for a tasting of 7 wines seems pretty steep in the area and also in other regions (we just came from Walla Walla).nnSecondly and more importantly, my partner’s card was charged an additional $189 as a hold. We called and asked for an explanation. In addition to the shock it was there, the service was really disappointing. Although they investigated and ultimately corrected the error. There wasn’t even an apology for the error.nnThirdly- atmosphere: the outdoor opera music was so loud we had to move seats. I get it’s and Italian winery, but what if you don’t like opera? Or at least, make the music be background and not foreground so we could enjoy the scenery and the cute winery dog. I know, a bit knit picky, but still- it impacted the overall experience.nnI hope management considers some changes because this truly gives me hesitation to return or to recommend.
