I was so excited to go for the first time, but I was let down. The host was rude and quickly dismissed our request to move tables even though no one was sitting there. Even though we made a reservation, we were thrown into a very small cramped dark corner where I barely had room to move. The food comes out fast, but it almost feels like they’re rushing you out. It was hard to relax and enjoy it. The service was good, but you could barely hear what they were saying because it was so loud and the masks made it hard to hear. I will say that the food was delicious, and you do get a second portion. However, the second portion of steak was a lot tougher than the first.nnWe went to celebrate a birthday, and they tell you that they can bring a dessert with a sparkler, but they don’t tell you that they’ll charge you for it. Usually restaurants are generous enough to provide a dessert since you chose their restaurant for such a special occasion.nnI am not in a rush to go back. It’s a little pricey for what you get and how fast they push you out.
So before I start, I am a chef of 12 years so this might be harsh... here we gonn1. Liked that the set menu had options but the drink choices were limited for those who don't drink... I know alcohol is a selling point but still.nn2. The food was good, steak was well cooked sauce was delicious and the fries were fresh. The desert however needs improvement, too much whipped cream on the key lime pie I had to scrape it off.nn3. Price point: I understand that the price is what it is, but what I had was not worth what I paid. Honestly I won't be returning, its not worth it in my book, too much money for so little food.nnHonestly this is why its a 3/5 because the food and service was good. However the price and lack of attention to detail was what sold it for me as a dnr.
Food was excellent! I was disappointed that we had to wait almost 20 minutes for our 7:30 reservation though which meant we were starving by the time we sat down.nnThe concept for Medium Rare is from a popular French restaurant, and while they checked most of the boxes, there's some room for improvement.nnFirst of all, we had a group of four and they brought us three slices of bread. When we asked for more, they gave us two more slices. Five divides about as well as three with a group of four - don't be so stingy with the bread!nnSecondly, there are recordings of French 'lessons' in the bathroom. At first I thought they were cute, but then they got more and more sketchy. Essentially they're 'pick up lines', but they're kind of gross and could be triggering for some people. Get rid of the skeezy recordings please!nnFinally, wine was okay but didn't allow us to taste before pouring glasses. Not a big deal, but added to the feeling that they were rushing us through.nnOn the bright side - that six layer carrot cake is totally worth the wait.
Picked up their dinner for two. Included salad, steak and gravy with fries, and a huge piece of chocolate cake. I had an excellent experience. The steak was tender and cooked medium rare just perfectly ud83dudc4c. I couldn't ask for better service, and its always a real treat to dine here.
I've been here several times and have always had a great experience! I was particularly impressed by my most recent visit on 10/28. I have never eaten out alone, but that day I was running errands and had a craving for steak! I decided to pop in and grab a table for one, and hoped I wouldn't feel awkward or uncomfortable. I wish I had gotten my server's name! She was incredible, she made me feel right at home and gave me a choice of a table where I felt the most comfortable. She made sure to check up on me regularly, but not to the point that she was disruptive (I was watching Netflix on my phone and had headphones in). As always, the food was amazing! The salad is always great, and the steak is excellent--I love their sauce. I will definitely return soon, and now feel comfortable coming with friends or even by myself!
