Compared to other Arlington playgrounds, this one is mediocre. There is zero shade. Two of the features were broken or closed. The hills are cool and will tire out your toddler, but when your child runs down the back side of the hills, you lose sight of them and have to run around the hills yourself; this just makes me nervous. The playground is not fenced in like other playgrounds, and has busy roads on three sides of it. I’m really surprised they didn’t fence in the playground to protect small children.
Better for toddlers when it comes to the play sets. But the rock climbing wall and large rubber mounds are great for kids a little older. Probably one of the coolest and most progressive parks in the region.
Mosaic Park is a new park in Arlington, Virginia close to the Ballston Quarter. If you don't live nearby, there's street parking along the park. As you walk into the park, you'll notice long wood lounge chairs for relaxing. As you enter the play space, you'll see a rock climbing wall built for younger and older kids. There's a small field for soccer, playground equipment and plenty of soft hills to climb. The park is built with equipment to build skills and confidence in children. Our toddler loved it!
My son loves this place. He is 2 years old and there are areas where he can climb up.
Great playground for toddlers. Street parking located all around, and lots of good places for takeout lunch. Not a ton of shade.
