Republik Coffee Bar is a large coffee shop in Ballston in the bottom of a high rise building. The decor is a little dark, but there are white murals inside decorating the space. They have a full coffee bar and my latte was decent. There's a little area with sugar and other goodies.
Sign says they are open, but no lights and the doors are locked? This IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I have come on my break to get a coffee and found they were closed. Bad business, I’d give 0 stars if I could.
I used to love this little hole in the wall coffee shop, but since the reopening after their long closure due to COVID-19, it hasn’t been the same.nnThe hours are so sporadic that I never know if they are going to be open or closed, even though hours are posted on the door 8-4, they are never open during the hours posted.nnNormally, you would expect an explanation but, no signs were posted. And never have been explained.nnThere are no COVID precautions other than masks (no sneeze guards or signs indicating you need to wear a mask like you see in other coffee shops like Starbucks or dunkin) and even then, I have seen employees not wear them in the store.nnI will come in sometimes, doors unlocked, people inside, and a sign on the counter that says “back in 5 minutes” is on the counter. Very unprofessional.nnAs much as it bothers me to post this, and I’ve never posted a review before, but this needs to be said.
Great atmosphere, great coffee, great music and a young adult crowd. What more could you ask for at a coffee shop?
I had a great coffee in this shop. Staff were so nice and very accommodating. Great selection & high quality.
