I moved from Kentucky to Missouri and these guys made a great job! They did bring the containers on Friday, I load them during the weekend and they do the rest.
Great customer service! Everything arrived safe, absolutely no damage.
After spending three days researching van lines, storage unit moving services, and more, I was nearly ready to throw in the towel and move myself across country, towing my car. I'm really glad I didn't - it's a long enough drive as is. U-Pack was fantastic. We moved 1200 miles with only a weeks notice. They dropped two containers off and picked them up the next day (I only wound up needing one for a one bedroom apartment, sans couch). If you pack well, it's more space than you think. I paid the extra $95 or whatever to guarantee delivery and it arrived promptly the morning after us. We unloaded it that day and they picked it up the very next day. A simple signature on either side, no tricks, no extra costs, quick service.
Like one of the other posters, the pick up in Lexington was a nightmare. I asked national to be sure my things could be picked up at my location. I was assured they could do it. When the driver arrived with the container, he said a tree next to the street was a problem. He suggested I cut the limbs off the city's tree. Okay sure I will just whip out my chainsaw. All my wood furniture was damaged.
Second move we have used U-Pack. Service is incomparable for the price. Online reservation and scheduling was simple. Pricing has gone up more than I had hoped since we have used the service but it was still the most reasonable option. Both destination and origin locations were flexible with pickup and delivery times/duration. A full service move would have cost $5k+, the U-Pack was $1400. Highly recommend considering this if you are looking at options for a long distance, 1-way move.
