Please pay attention to this review. Unless you went to school there yourself, or are wealthy enough for your child to fit in, run far away from this school! I cannot deny the education is thorough and rigorous, but the environment is too TOXIC for it to be worth the price tag. The environment is cutthroat, many students have been there for their whole school life and it is impossible for any newcomer to find a place. Also, if your student values honesty or fairness, this is not the place. He/she will not get it from either the staff or students. The administration is difficult to deal with, all greedy and petty politics. This culture is modeled for the students, and there is no sense of community or camaraderie. The few good staff and students are hidden gems, but toe the line over all. Again, avoid Sayre if you value your children.

Sayre is a wonderful place---I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience my children are having there. The Lower School is fantastic--offering innovative learning experiences as well as traditional values. Specifically, the Responsive Classroom approach enables the children and teachers to operate in a mutually respectful arena, allowing for optimal learning. Sayre truly values our children and their individual developmental needs.

All of the staff contributes to an excellent experience and education at Sayre. They educate the children with real world experiences and demonstrate kindness and compassion everyday. I have no doubt my daughter is getting a priceless educational experience at Sayre.

Most nurturing environment for your child. And the most amazing college counseling you could imagine. Nothing but praise for my children's experience from 1st grade-high school.

One of the oldest private schools in Lexington area. Highly educated teachers, though not all have teaching certification.
