A great place for families. Excellent playground. Paved walking path around (1 mile?). 18 maintained holes for disc golf. Baseball fields, tennis courts too.nnThe only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the lack of wooded areas. It has a few small areas of forest but they are not used (e.g. the walking path doesn't run through them).

Shillito Park is SO awesome - bravo to Parks & Recreation for building and maintaining such a beautiful space with so many recreational options. There are walking/running/bike paths, tennis courts, basketball courts, frisbee golf space, baseball and soccer grounds, etc. But honestly the best feature is the highly celebrated, fully accessible playground built for all! It has two playgrounds for different age groups - constructed for kids of all abilities. There are swings galore with really net seats for both parent and kids to swing at the same time, a water feature in the summer, an accessible merry-go-round, a musical play area, and more. The ground is composite material, meaning it’s safe to play on without threat of being stabbed in the eye by mulch. This is a great park with fun for everyone - definitely give it a go when you want to spend time outside. Way to go City of Lexington!!!

Great place to bring your family on a nice day. It has open grass areas for picnics, ball fields and a large children's play area.

Great park! Newly renovated, has an area for younger toddlers and another area close by for bigger kids with lots of cool things to climb on and explore. The swings are nice, some of them are tandem swings even. There's a safe, wheelchair accessible merry-go-round. And there's even a water area where kids can turn a wheel and water comes out and flows through canals.nnThis has been one of my favorite playgrounds, we will definitely come again!

Easily southside Lexington's premier park. I organize adult flag football leagues at well-maintained multipurpose athletic fields. There are also great walking / running trails in the park, and its a great place to take your dog for a walk!
