Good Foods Co-op

We had a relaxed time shopping the Good Foods Co-op, with its well stocked shelves with organic options, garden plants, bulk nuts, seeds, lentils, and Earth-friendly food selections.nnTheir friendly staff, ready to assist, stand out! My wife was looking forward to their ginger cookies on our drive there, and when we saw its tray empty, were wondering how to sub that craving. As associate at checkout suggested asking the chef if they could or had the specific cookie baking. Sure enough, out came Kevin with the welcome news that he could, and in a few minutes later we were enjoying a warm, freshly-baked, ginger cookie, crunchy at the edges, soft at the core, all around delicious. It was easy to relax and enjoy this treat over yummy coffee, in their socially-distanced dining area. If we lived any close to Lex, we'd visit the Co-op a lot more.

I can absolutely get lost in this place. There is so much to see! An original Nintendo station with games, a Victorian couch, and the most impressive to my 6 yr old was the train and its village. Of course there were lots more items such as appliances, cabinets, hardware and so on. But everyone has their favorite. ud83dude42

I get Amish butter here ... Our household could not live without it! They, also, sell bones that we use to make our bone broth. Oh yeah ... I found salt rising bread there on my last visit ... I had no idea they had it until I was just browsing around and saw it. I haven't found any since I've been an adult. My grandmother and mom bought this for certain sandwiches ... Olive nut and pimento cheese. The best ever ... And, brought back some childhood memories too!

One of my favorites since moving to Lexington. Best sautéed Kale! Best sweet potato adventures to date! A guest was totally impressed with the locally sourced fresh milk I got here. I am not particular about my fresh milk, but I'll share her commendation here!

When you get down to it, every purveyor of groceries has its own set of imperfections. Good Foods offers a selection of goods that I need - often exceeding Whole Foods, Good Foods and Kroger. The salad bar and hot foods section are above par. Confections, by the piece are yum! Employees never rush past and are very helpful.
