Big Eddy Campground

Highway 55 was snow covered and slick. No access to river right now best to just drive by unless you are caught in bad conditions or just need sleep, which both happened to me last night. Good place to rest up thoigh

Great place to stop on your way to somewhere. At the time of this writing the fee was $15 and I counted 5 spots. I stayed in the spot closest to the road and there was sparse traffic at all hours of the night, but not too bothersome. I liked hearing the soft rush of the river all night.

Wow. Possibly the best campground ever.$15 and only 4 sites.

Smallest campground I've ever been to and has some beautiful views of the river. When you turn in there is no turn around if you have a big rig.

My family was traveling along Highway 55 from Riggins to Garden Valley when I decided to stop for a quick potty break and to stretch my legs. A woman, who I’m assuming is a campground host although she never identified herself as such, approached my family in the car who were waiting for me, and stated the restroom was not for “public use”. When I returned to my vehicle she also harassed me stating the restroom was for campers only! I told her I pay my state and federal taxes and all I did was use the restroom! She was so rude and acted as if we had caused some sort of damage or abuse to the campgrounds. There are no signs posted anywhere stating this restroom is for campers only at the Big Eddy Campground! Also, her minivan had Oregon plates?!? If she is the campground host, she’s rude and harassing the public and needs to be fired!
