Arrowrock Dam

Amazing structure situated in picturesque mountain scenery. I wish the dam itself had more public access.

Great access to parking areas and very scenic. The dirt road is very rough the first 5 miles so needs to be driven very slowly.

Fun little place in the Boise valley. A bit of a journey to get there, but well worth it with the open space and large waterfront! The drive can feel a little dicey though since the road to get there is narrow and turns into a dirt road shortly after turning off at Lucky Peak. I would recommend bringing a larger vehicle, not only for the road, but to transport water equipment and shade. This place has a lot of water, but no trees/shade provided naturally. Lots of water, sunscreen, and shade makes this place a little bit cooler from it's neighbor. There are a lot of people who camp there, and limited trash bins, so definitely prepare to pack out any trash brought in, keep Idaho beautiful friends!

Great place. Bring your own trash bags. We are responsible for own trash in this recreation area.
