In the Spring of 1945, Robert Robison was in the Army, stationed at Los Alamos Labs. His job was to photograph wedges of precisely molded TNT explosives. The 4x5 negative for this photo has been in an envelope labeled Camp May Trail. I did not realize until recently that Camp May was just a few miles from Los Alamos. Walking and photographing this trail through the pines and aspens must have been as good for the soul in 1945 as today.

Hope they invested in cleaning this CG up, it's been a few years since I've been there. But from what i saw was a poorly maintained camp ground that needed some serious upgrading. As others pointed out the sites are rather close together with no shrubbery or trees in between. I gave it a three as there is no other closer place to camp other than Bandelier NP.. Me personally go the extra distance and camp up in Cowles at Jacks Creek.

A great place for picnics and hikes. We love to go here on summer evenings and get out of the heat in White Rock.

Wonderful campsite. Restrooms are clean and stocked with toilet paper. Very quiet on a Monday night. Loved it
