This a great place that helps people from all ages and races better their craft. You have to remember that this is a school and the students are there to learn. I found my current barber there towards the end of his graduation and he's been cutting my hair for about 2 years now at another barbershop. Every now and then I go back to the school and give another student a try when I need a quick cut.
You can't beat it for the price. Intermediates may be a bit tentative, but are usually adequate. I believe all are checked by a supervisor. Most seniors are very good - even better than paid haircutters. The best thing is that you have a good blend of society: black, white, mostly men but a few women, and customers young and old. Plus an upbeat, experienced staff. It's quiet and respectful. No issues here, but it's overdue for a remodel. They should take up a collection! A wonderful slice of Americana.
Very hospital when I walked in the door. Explained what service I wanted and I was courtesy directed to a more experienced student. PLEASED with the results.
The barbers are excellent! Very well trained and talented! And always excellent with kids!
