Lake George Schroon Valley Resort

This is the sister site of the Lake George Escape campground a few miles away. I've brought my RV to both campgrounds this summer and had a great experience at both.nnThis Schroon Valley site is the smaller campground and very quiet and peaceful even with all sites booked. It seems like there are more seasonal campers here. I cant say I agree with the past comments about seasonal sites being messy or unsightly...i only saw one older rig with a broken awning, every other site was nicely maintained, many seasonal site owners had put up decks, popups and decorated with flags and landscaping. The sites down below without sewer connections are more spacious - we stayed in #140 which is extra wide with space for the kids to play or for extra parking. The park host was very kind to help us out with this site assignment as we arrived a little after the 8pm check in cut off, and helped accommodate us in 140 after spot 43 proved to be too small to back our 26 ft trailer into. They offer firewood delivery to campsites and mobile pumpouts to the non-sewer sites.nnThere isn't much for activities at this site, but the good news is your stay entitles you to visit the sister site LG Escape to take advantage of the beach, tubing or paddling on the river, playground, restaurant and bar, rentals, movies or music in the park, etc.nnIt's very pleasant to walk around both sites, and the neighbors are all friendly. I had trouble removing my new hose from the water spigot and a neighbor lent me a wrench. The facilities are spartan but clean. I think I'd prefer to stay at the Schroon River site if I wanted a quiet stay, and if i was in the mood to be more social and active, I might choose to stay at the Escape site. I like that there's far less golf carts cruising around the Schroon River site...makes for a quieter stay.

Go experience this place for yourself. Don't listen to the negative reviews. The water is on the edge of the resort. It's a nice flowing river about knee to waist deep. Yes there is road noise, you tune it out eventually. Got to expect that with the interstate near by. Yes it's crowded, what campgrounds isn't? There is a lot of seasonals there but everyone was very friendly. I have a 34 foot camper and fit just fine, lower trees in all. We had no issues with electric as my ac was on the whole time. The only thing negative about this place for me was the ground bees. I'm not sure if the campground can do something about this but they were in clusters around the campground ( out front of my site being a bad spot for them ) I'd come back if I was in the area.

Absolutely a great place to camp!! Very close to the river and beautiful pool!! Staff is super nice!!

Too many seasonal trailers and each site is too close. There is no privacy. Seasonal sites are allowed to store junk and some look very junky.

From calling Shelly in the office to book the reservation who went out of her way to help me, to the maintenance guys that helped with a flat tire you can not get better customer service. The campsite was great. Lastly you cannot beat the Schroon River. It is so fun to enjoy a day snorkeling floating or just sitting in the current. One of my favorite campsites ever.
