This is the second time we went to this restaurant, and we go to Portsmouth quite often. We were there this past New Years eve. First let me start by saying that the food is NO way like in Italy for the person that put that in a past review. We’ve been to Italy a few times and a restaurant from there would be embarrassed to be compared to Cafe Mediterranean. I can very confidently state that. Second the man/owner? Not sure who he is, is one of the rudest hosts Ive ever encountered. I cannot believe he is at the front door greeting you. He’s borderline annoyed to even see you walk in. The waitress was very nice even tho we asked for espressos with a side of Sambucca and were brought Espresso Martinis instead???????!!!!! My husband who is Italian can very surely say that the sauce is similar to a second rate pizza sauce. You know we were at this restaurant in the fall and witnessed the front host going out to warmly greet two people they obviously know with a dog , that honestly I can the dog was greeted more graciously than we were. That speaks volumes and he who ever he is should pay attention to this review. Try smiling it works wonders.

Terrible service and pasta sauce seemed to have way too much salt in the sauce. But the bread and oil was fantastic. That was the only high light of the meal.

Always a delight!! I like to tweak ingredients, creating my own individualized entree, which always meets my expectations. The atmosphere is cozy and wait staff friendly and very attentive. It's my favorite Italian Restaurant. Portsmouth location a big draw.

Been going here for years and is by far my favorite restaurant in Portsmouth., probably all of NH. Food is SO good, it inspires cravings. Very reasonable prices. Nice, professional staff. I've had almost everything on the menu... chicken dishes, lasagna, parmesean... and filet mignon. Always great.
