If you have a chance, take the quarry trail when there is snow on the ground.it can be challenging but it is doable even without shoe spikes. Amazingly beautiful. Multiple scenic vistas.

Great introductory trail to the area, very well marked (look for blue paint on trees as you go). Very packed down right now (1/12/21), no snowshoes but I wore spikes and was very glad I did as it's very rocky and slick. Definitely need good solid boots right now. Somewhere I read a suggestion by someone to do the Quarry trail on the way up from the parking lot and then the Riverside trail to finish the loop coming back down, and that worked well I think for current trail conditions. Make sure you check out the Glade stop point along the Riverside trail, with the stone seats, and nice overlook for your snacks and hydration. :)

Awesome climb! If someone is laughing at you for taking this trail they are wrong, this is not a easy climb especially when you have kids. Highly recommend it but you got to be careful some of the rocks are very steep. Coming down the blue trail we saw the paramedics going up yo rescue a girl we twisted her ankle so Make sure you bring proper shoes and plenty of water . But I've seen families with 3 kids, 1 toddler and 2 ud83dudc15 with them so this can be very easy for some people. On top the view is just spectacular, 360 view of the valley, the lake and distant mountains ⛰ ud83dudc4c.

Despite the rocky, root filled, steep incline, this trail was excellent. The views of Lake Winnipesaukee were well worth the exertion to make it to the top! There are multiple viewing areas with free 'binoculars' to use as you scan the scenery. Highly recommend the stop and hike up.
