It's where I grew up. Born and raised. AHS class of 1978. I'm old enough to remember the old downtown waterfront. The current state of the river is jammed with ice. Coast Guard cutters are mooring up to the sea wall, and they are interesting to look at and study.
Algonac has a beautiful park which you can many times see freighters going by. The Dairy Queen and Jets Pizza are right across the street so you can stop and grab a snack and go to the park and enjoy the great view or go for a walk down the boardwalk.nNice benches, picnic tables and Adirondack chairs for sitting also.nLots of people fish here too. Outhouse and boat launch.
I absolutely love algonac it's one of the best places I've ever been in.
Really nice river front park for a walk with Great views. 4 stars (not 5) because you have to park across the street.
