This is a very pretty river. I want to write this to tell people what to expect, because we had no idea what we were in for. You have to park two cars. One at this park and another at Strom Park in Fenton. This is a seven mile paddle. Expect several tunnels, light rapids at times, downed trees, and very shallow areas. Expect to get out of your kayak at times, if you get stuck. Water shoes are a good idea, because there are areas with rocks. There are sandy areas and areas with a lot of weeds. Plenty of fish and we even spotted a beaver. We were the only people on the river, which I couldn’t believe, because the weather was gorgeous. Can’t wait to paddle this river next season, especially now that I know what to expect. Not a lot of kicking back and relaxing. You have to work to get through all the obstacles, but it is a nice change from “lazy rivers.”

Lovely run downriver, but don’t plan to paddle upriver to float down, because a large fallen tree blocks the whole river. Beautiful scenery and crystal clear water! Shallow with a few minor rapids and a fun tunnel.

Great little park with a 1/4 mile loop which is awesome for walking small dogs. Also have a canoe/kayak drop in/out spot.

Great little park right by downtown holly with a kayak launch and maps of your trip.

It's small parking and needs a facelift. Good drop off point for kayaking, and for taking senior pictures when there's trees, but the tore those down . They tore down the most interesting feature, the water house where people used to take pictures next to. Now it's all open. Just a outhouse for toilets, no swings or playground or pavilions. There are some grills but no picnic tables or benches to sit at or walk ways. There is a worn out dirt path that looks like what happens when a dog follows the same path for years. It's across from a lake and near a river stream
