Just east of the Issaquah Highlands is a 7-mile multi purpose trail on 1200 forested acres for wildlife and nature preservation and public recreation. The forest elevation rises 1100 feet so it's an easy and mild climb for people breaking in new hiking gear or for hikers recovering post acute injuries or even surgeries. It's only 35-45 minutes drive from Seattle but be mindful that it connects to the Duthie Hill mountain bike park, so i wouldn't recommend bringing a large group or small kids for hiking here because there are more mountain bikers than people on foot, and not all of them wear bells.nThere are multiple entry points to the park that are described on their website. The trail itself is extremely well maintained by volunteers, and you'll be surrounded by Douglas firs and western red cedars, while getting to walk or bike across a few small bridges and salmon stream. It doesn't really have a vista view, but it's a forest for some light short day outdoor activity nonetheless for people on the move who don't want to drive over an hour to get outdoorsy.

Well maintained trail system that is mountain bike friendly. Props to all the trail workers who have maintained the trail network!
