You will be walking upwards the whole 3 miles, meaning then you have to walk down. If your knees aren't good this isn't a small hike for you. Don't go during the weekends if you dont want to have hundreds of people also being there. There's small parking but other then that the view at the top is worth the the breath taking price. It was a nice experience.
1. I went up the chirico trail to poo poo point.n2. Parking was limited at 8.30 am on Saturdayn3. It was a steep incline over a short distance but was well kept.n4. My map showed me 4 miles trip with 1640 ft elevation and 2.25 hrs moving timen5. Mostly covered with trees except at the topn6. Was foggy all the way so could not see anything
Worth the climb. Difficulty is moderate to hard. Views are pretty. Bring a mat to sit and relax. Parking is hard to find.
This used to be one of my favorite trails for a quick hike on a Saturday or Sunday morning. There are about 40 parking spaces and hiking at a good clip, you can be up, enjoy 10-15 minutes at the top and be back down in about 2 1/2 hours. Unfortunately, though, the secret is out and it is now overcrowded with large groups and novice hikers not wearing masks when passing (this is especially important for the uphill hiker). The trail is mostly narrow with only a handful of sections where social distancing is possible. We arrived at 8 am on a Saturday morning, and the parking was already full. There is an overflow lot for $5 (you must have cash or check) and then you walk along the busy road until you can cross over to the trailhead. If the trail was not crowded, my review would be four stars. On a clear day with perfect conditions, you can watch the paragliders prep for their gliding and then take off.
Mesmerizing views. Nice trail. Paragliding at the top. Worth the hike
