Very nice place for morning activities, it’snnSwallow Cliff North Stairs is a 2.5 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Palos Heights, Illinois that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, Burned: 544 calories per hour (based on a body weight of 150 lbsnnConstructed in 1930 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, 125 limestone stairs lead to the top of a former toboggan run on Swallow Cliff's 100-foot bluff. In 2016, the Forest Preserves added another set of stairs with an additional 168 steps, creating a full circuit.
Many hiking trails and a beautiful nature area not too far from Chicago!
I have been running the stairs since 2015 and I love it. The area is beautiful and it's great exercise. However due to covid19 restrictions there is always a cop at the bottom,who will harass you about where your parked at. Just a friendly heads up, so be out at sunset
No more toboggan slides. Darn, they were awesome. You can still walk the stairs for exercise. Limited capacity. A nice place for scenery. A little cafe?
