Since I became a regular patron of this establishment in 2019, the business's current owner, Mr. Dan Sartain, has always provided me top-tier service for a fantastic value. Situated inside an early Twentieth Century brick edifice with an ornately decorated window matching its red, white, and blue barber’s pole, Dan Sartain’s Barber Shop harkens back to Woodlawn’s founding and has been a fixture of the community since 1904, when the space was first occupied as a single-chair, 12’ x 22’ establishment. Mr. Sartain seized the reins of this establishment in 2019, and he has since continued the tradition of cultivating conversation, community, friendship, and mutual understanding while wielding a pair of scissors that that this barber shop has symbolized for over a century.
