Baytown Nature Center was great if you are a salt water fisherman. I mainly do fresh water. But I had a great time. I would say cast as far as you can. There is alot of stuff in the water to get caught up on. A boat or canoe would be really great to go out past all the rocks and stuff. Overall it is a nice area, good for family, BBQ, or just kicking it with friends. Good for kids, they have a playground. Fresh air, clean, Porto potties so take appropriate items. 4 stars because of the fishing from the bank, you loose your gear or the blue crabs eat your shrimp. If you want those bring a big net because they are HUGE. Oh they have fishing piers but the space isn't that big. It's first come first serve. Don't let that discourage you. You can still have fun with family and fish. Just cast out far.

Well for me as you will see in the pictures, in 1950s it became a neighborhood, which I grew up in till 1970. Now it a very nice wetland due to subsidence. Trails are well kept, designated picnic areas and fishing areas some concrete foundations still exist. It was a neighborhood that everyone knew everyone and the kids no need to lock doors and windows. Worth the visit ck with office about bike riding.
