Worth the quarter mile or so diversion from the Trillium Gap trail to LeConte, or if you are hiking past Grotto Falls already. Some very dense brush forms a tunnel taking you up to the top of the mountain. No trees at the top so you get a pretty good view. It gets very muddy, so wear the right shoes.

Nice place to grab lunch by yourself. View is ok. Neat walk up the creek at the end though.

It's a bit of a hike to get to the top but well worth the extra hour or two past Grotto Falls you have to go. Breathtaking views at the summit with gorgeous streams, brooks, and massive rock formations really make it a fun hike. I would recommend waterproof boots if you go all the way to the top as the path as you get further up becomes very wet and muddy, and if you try to guess where you can step that you won't soak your shoes you'll wind up with wet feet the whole way down. If you're going to Grotto Falls I absolutely recommend you to make the rest of the hike.
