Hey all, Vien Quang Buddhist Monastery of Clover, SC will remain close until everything is back to normal. ud83dude03nAlso, the main purpose of the Monastery is for Monks and Nuns to get their Buddhist educations. They was only open to the public to share their culture.nDue to lack of man power, (literally, only 1 civilian come and help keep up with the 22 acres of land) the entire place wont be up to par.nWhen everything is back to normal, they accept donations: money and / or man power to help out. Such as watering the thousands of plants and flowers, blowing leaves from sidewalk, planting more flowers and trees, mulching, cleaning the statues, etc.nYou can simply ask to volunteer.

As of December 6th, 2020 the temple remains closed. It’s a shame because it seems like a very beautiful site even just by the outside of the gates. If it’s anything like the temple I used to go to in WA, I’m sure they’re closed specifically because of COVID-19. However, I was able to meditate outside of the gate and enjoyed it for what it was. Anyone who visits should do the same until they return back to their regular hours. They are not open on Sundays, despite what the hours say. They are closed all through the week. Be patient and I’m sure they’ll be open. Until then, enjoy it for what it is. The entrance is a nice red gate where you can see multiple Buddha statues in the distance straight ahead. A good view regardless of the situation and barely any traffic noise.

For the people who complain about it being closed. I'm pretty sure the monks don't set up the Google page and the hours are updated by those who went.nnSecond, those who have visited have said multiple times to call ahead to see if they're open.nnQuit blaming the monastery for you not being smart enough to do some research.nnThey are giving us this beauty and relaxation for free.nnYou jackass.

I hope to one day give this place more stars ud83cudf1f but we drove 3.5 hours to get there on a Saturday only to have it closed. I wish they would change thier hours on Facebook and website, at least answer the phone.

Peaceful and inviting. Go. Visit. Observe. Learn. I was curious so visited a Saturday morning. I was welcomed after exploring the grounds and returned the following day.
