Cherokee County Animal Control

Called to get them to come get these poor homeless cats around my apartment complex but they never even came. They definitely don't do the job they get paid to do!!!! & No wonder there are so many homeless animals in Cherokee County.

All went well. I was treated just Great. The best people work there.

They picked our outside cat up on the 23rd of this month she has a litter of kittens here at home that will die without their mama i called and spoke to them about it and they told me i had to pay them 15 per day since the 23rd and pandemic has me broke they refuse to give her back and hung up on me these people dont care about the animals they just want to make there money off of picking them up i absolutely hate these people..... That was my sons cat and he is devastated i hope yall are happy cherokee county animal shelter yall aint worth the money spent to fund yall.

Absolutely horrible...nnAbout at most a month ago I had a stray cat pay a visit and late at night I heard it messing around the underside of our trailer home with the ventilations or pipes making some racket. I had called on a Friday and was told that they couldn't bring a cage down to catch it because it was a Friday and they can't do that on the weekends, which was fine. Waited until Monday to call back again and requested a cage to be brought down so we could catch the stray cat.nEventually two members of the county police, one a sheriff I believe, came down with a cage a couple of days later. but they told me that they only brought a cage down to catch it themselves because it was their only cage and they couldn't leave it. Only ONE cage and two trucks available for the ENTIRE county, It's pathetic but I said okay fine. The stray cat is shy and always runs away when people are around or whenever I come outside so they weren't going to be able to catch it. So they went away after I asked them to let us know when a cage would be available to be left overnight when it comes for food.nI think about a week passed with no phone calls from them so I called them again, but no answer. okay.. so I kept calling back waiting a day or two in between calls, and still no answer, just being sent back to voicemail saying they're away from their desk/phones. By some unnatural coincidences they're now away from their desk/phones whenever I call which leads me to believe that we're now being ignored. In my voice mails I've left my phone number for them to call back, but nothing happened.nnJust today I found a cage that I had stored away years ago which seems to still work, so I plan on catching the cat at night and calling animal control to come pick it up the following day, so I called to check if they would be available but guess again, sent to voicemail where I left a decently length recording of my concerns and frustration.nnThis kind of either ineptitude or unwillingness to service is appalling.nnUpdate: was able to get in contact with animal control communications today and was able to get the captured cat taken away surprisingly not long after the call. I asked the lady who answered why the animal shelter wasn't picking up or returning my calls, and she didn't give a clear answer other than wanting to give me a direct number, i declined since i didn't need it anymore.nBumping the rating to three star for the quickness to respond and take away today and since it was partly my fault for trying to call the animal shelter extension instead of report a stray animal extension.nnTL;DR: wanted a stray cat gone and was probably calling the wrong extension, but still the shelter didn't want to answer or return calls for more over two weeks.

They were courteous and prompt
