First United Bank - Shawnee Harrison

On March 14, 2021, at approximately 11am, I used the ATM located at First United Bank, 2675 N. Harrison, Shawnee, OK 74804, to pull $500 off my child support card.nThe ATM completed the transaction, dispensed my funds, but then went to a screen stating “Sorry, this machine is temporarily out of service”, before giving me my child support card back.nThere are no instructions on this machine in case of malfunction.nThere is no phone number on this machine in case of malfunction.nI tried, to no avail, to call the number of the bank.nI couldn’t just drive off and leave my card there. What if it spit it back out after I drove off? Anybody could have picked up my card and used the remaining $1,500.nI then had to spend $40 of my own money to transfer my funds on to another card so I could cancel the card in the ATM and go home.nI called the bank as soon as they opened this morning. I first spoke with Cindy, a “relationship banker”, who advised me they don’t service their own ATM so there is nothing they can do about it. She advised me to just “cancel the card”.nI advised her the card was already canceled, but this is not acceptable. What if it had been somebody who didn’t have the option to transfer their funds to another card? I requested to speak to somebody who could assist me with an ATM issue. She advised me that Amanda was in a meeting and took my number.nWhen I asked who Amanda is, she only stated that she is “above the branch manager”.nAmanda Brackeen called me back and advised once again that they do not service their own machine so there is nothing they could do about it.nThere is plenty they could do about it. They need a sign that says “Use at your own risk. We do not service this ATM and will not assist in the event of a malfunction”. This should include a number to somebody who can help; even if it is just to advise the person on what steps they need to take to protect their account.nnNobody should have to sit at an ATM and try to figure it out themselves while already stressing about how they are going to feed their family when they have to wait for a new card to arrive.nShawnee, Oklahoma is poverty stricken. Most people cannot afford to have their money tied up indefinitely because a bank chose to save a little money on a faulty ATM.nThe goal of this complaint is to force them to put a sign out, with very clear instructions and a number to call in the case of a machine malfunction.nThis machine is presented as an extension of their bank and they should take at least some responsibility when it malfunctions.nAnd I want my $40 back.

The real question is why are you still reading this review and call her to get a home loan or refinance ASAP!
