My son and I hiked the 2.5 mile trail to the top of Mt Morrow last week. The first two miles were exhilarating, up and down over ravines. The last half-mile was a great challenge: very steep, but walkable with my walking stick. I had to stop every 20 steps or so to catch my breath, and I wasn’t sure I could make it; that is until I spotted a couple hikers a couple hundred yards below me. I didn’t want to be passed, and made it to the top. The view was beautiful, and there was a park ranger (“Maggie”) who offered us a ride back to the starting point. She was a lifesaver! We never would have made it back before dark.nThank you, Maggie! ud83dudc4dud83cudffdud83dude0aud83cuddfaud83cuddf8

This is a great place to go walking, hiking, kayaking, and or camping. They have several trails throughout the park and thay are very well marked. It is a great way to just unwind and relax. The best part is that it is FREE. There is plenty of parking. Dogs are allowed. Check it out!

This is a great place to visit by yourself and with family. The views are breathtaking. There are many things to do from camping, swimming and they even have a museum. It's on my list as one of the top places to visit in North Carolina

We had a great day at Morrow Mountain! The facilities at the top were very clean. It was not as busy when we got there a little after 12. The views were amazing! We took the blue trailer trail down the mountain and it was nice because it was downhill, but also had some nice uphill hikes. We found awesome rocks and 'treasures' along the hike. Everyone we met on the trail practiced social distancing. It took us longer than most people, I'm sure, because we stopped for fun pictures and to explore a little bit. We let people pass, as needed. We parked another vehicle at the museum at the bottom of the mountain so that when we got to the bottom, we could just drive back up.nIt was an all-around great day!! Even my 9-year-old enjoyed it.

This was a 5.5 mile hike on the Bridle trail that ended up being 7.2 mile hike. The walk is beautiful but the trails are poorly marked. We couldn't figure out where we were and went from blue circles to blue triangles that went straight up a mountain. Came back and no one we met knew for sure where the trails were. On the maps posted in the woods, half the trails are cut off and important land marks are not noted. For example we parked near the port a John but it isn't listed on any map. Again beautiful scenery but needs some work for sure. We ended up just going back the way we came because we never could follow the loop.
