What a great campground!! This place definitely exceeded our expectations. We stayed at C4. Right on the river. The C section doesn’t have sewer hookup, but the owner comes around and dumps your tanks for you every couple days. You just don’t see that happen just anywhere. Grounds are well maintained. Bathrooms are super clean. Little details like that, make this a great campground. Sites and level and the hookups are all in the right places. Roads in campground are great for bike riding for kids. This is will be our new Halloween tradition. Good job! Wish every campground we visited was this fun and this nice!nnDallas & Samantha
Beautiful location and well-kept grounds. We stayed in a large, level electric/water site that backed up to the river. So pretty to step down the little hill into the cold water, wish we had brought kayaks! Nice campground decorations for fall including hay bales painted as cute farm animals. Nice little office and store for items you forgot. Best bathhouses we’ve ever seen in a campground (fresh, clean, with glass shower doors and changing benches in individual stalls). Pool was closed for the season, didn’t use onsite laundry so can’t comment. Looks like a family-run business, young man (12 yr old?) in office was helpful with local area info. Would like to come back to this area sometime: lots to do in North Georgia, beautiful lakes, mountains, etc, and would definitely recommend this campground!
We love this Campground. It is family friendly, well decorated, and well placed between the river and scenic mountain range. The only 'complaint' my husband and daughter had was the lacking WIFI strength. I, personally, don't weigh this in my camping experience, so it's a 5 from me! We look forward to returning next year!
Thanksgiving trip - We've stayed at this campground many times - it is clean and well-kept and a lovely setting on the Hiawassee River. Most of the sites are very level and compared to some other campgrounds, most are well spaced considering you are in a campground.nnAlthough the 3-night minimum - must check out on Sunday rule - I clearly don't understand if you check in on Wednesday and ARE staying 3 nights!nnPerhaps the problems we encountered on this trip were because of the holiday, but we didn't see much oversite of the campground during our stay. We had sites across from the river - A section.nnOur neighbors had a ton of kids - not that I don't like kids - but when they are running back-and-forth through your campsite and yelling and screaming, it does become a bit annoying. The campers were part of a group, and I guess we were somehow squeezed in the middle of their group. There were bikes and toys everywhere. They even took over the empty site on the other side of us.nnThe adults were loud and yelling for their kids constantly - walking about with alcohol (which is prohibited outside your campsite), and playing their music really loud. These people actually behaved as though they were the only people in the campground. I just do not understand rude people!nnDOGS: There were a couple of stray dogs that didn't seem to belong to anyone in the campground. We have seen the dogs there before.nWe have a dog, nothing against dogs, but other campers had dogs NOT on a leash who were just grazing on the hillside - no poop bags. My daughter actually stepped in dog poop! For the life of me, I do not understand why people think they don't have to clean up after their animals!! There was no one around to enforce the leash policy.
The cable is not in service. They just stopped offering cable at the campground. There is no TV in the mountains on the camper digital antenna. Checking in was smooth for us ; however, our friends had issues and were given a site different than they were told when they made the reservation. The owner literally said they don’t make mistakes and you should apologize to us and take what we’re giving you or leave. This seems like a bad way to treat people. The campground reservation office does not send email or text confirmation for reservations. Again strange. You may want to call a day before you go to reconfirm.
