Gwinnett School of Music - Lawrenceville

My 13 year old son has been taking violin lessons with Christine Howe since February. She is very professional and musically talented. I am extremely pleased with her teaching methods and my son's progress. He enjoys his lessons and looks forward to each one.

I've taken piano lessons with this school as an adult student for the last couple years. The lessons are useful and informative and I've improved greatly in that time. The staff has been welcoming, and they've had no trouble accommodating my work schedule (within reason).nnMy teacher is the same Christine as the angry review above. I don't know what their problem was, but I've always seen her act professionally.

My daughter has been taken classes with Ms. Kristine Howe for over a year and she has shown so much growth. She is very attentive to her needs but she pushes her when she has to, which makes my daughter even better. I even had my friend signed up her daughter with Ms. Howe.

This review is a reflection upon the teacher, not the Gwinnett School of Music Administration. Upon arriving in Georgia after relocating from NYC, we were excited to have our daughter continue her violin lessons. We researched and chose this location due to the close proximity to our house (the schools have additional locations, our daughter is now attending the Grayson location). Upon meeting Christine Waithe, my initial impression of her was mild mannered and respectful. I made sure to sit in on a few lessons until my daughter was comfortable learning her violin lessons with this individual. After a few weeks of attending, I noticed the utter disrespectful manner in which Christine began to treat both myself and my daughter which is unacceptable. If we occasionally forgot an item, I would be reprimanded and spoken to as if I am a child in a condescending manner. After further speaking with my daughter, I learned while I was sitting outside waiting for her lessons to be completed, Christine would act extremely rude and disrespectful to my daughter while conducting her private lessons which is appalling, considering my daughter is there to learn and lessons should be conducted in a calm and peaceful manner. The last straw for us, was Christine's total disrespect in acknowledging my telephone calls, emails and text messages informing her of my daughter's cancellation for that day. I did not receive a response until the next day, when I called the school to complain about Ms. Waithe's behavior. The school is great, however Ms. Waithe's behavior needs a reality check and she is not fit to teach violin lessons if she cannot act professionally around her students and parents.
