What a nice place to have some great seafood with a view that can't be beat. We arrived at what was thought to be early for dinner after coming off the golf course but found out that this is a very popular place to eat. The wait as going to be about an hour so we inquired about sitting at the bar, no problem there , if you can find a place to sit. We did. Not only did it save us a lot of wait time but our seats and view out the open window could not have been better. We started with some drinks naturally, my son a beer and me with a tasty gin and grapefruit. We started off with mozzarella cheese sticks, clam chowder ( creamy and chunks of clams) and some calamari...tasty and filling. Our main dish was seafood pasta that had chunks of shrimp, I think crab , and whitefish...delicious. My son ate it with a fork but I used a spoon because I wanted every last ounce of the sauce. It was a very enjoyable evening and fun dining experience. CRABBY JOE'S, worth the trip.
Eat outside if you can! The indoor area is perfectly fine, but out on the pier it's spectacular. Breakfast was good, not fantastic. Service was surprisingly slow even though it wasn't super busy. But I dont think you come to Crabby Joe's for the food or the service. You come for the experience and the sheer joy of eating on a pier jutting 150 feet straight out into the Atlantic. Amazing. Just watch out for the steady stream of fishermen making their way down the center aisle with all their gear!
I really enjoyed this place! We're visiting Daytona Beach, and went here twice during dinner. We didn't make reservations, and were only worried because we had a party of eleven. They seated us within 20 minutes both times. The first night, they were busy, but managed to juggle the customers well. We waited almost an hour for our food, and although the food was good, the wait was a little much. Our server was good, but didn't check on us a lot, and some of our items were incorrect. After about 40 minutes, the appetizer we ordered still hadn't come out, so we asked, and received it about 5 minutes before our food. She did well considering the traffic, and was friendly.nnThe second night, we ended up with a server named George, and he was PHENOMENAL!!! We never had to ask for refills on drinks, he just brought them. Our food was hot and fresh, and the entire order was correct. He was extremely polite, attentive, and delivered some of the best customer service I've ever had.nnThe casual atmosphere invites everyone from t-shirts, jeans, or even a bathing suit and cover-up. We ordered a wide variety of menu items, and all were delicious. Take a light jacket or sweatshirt though, because it can get a little breezy towards the evening. Don't forget to ask for George!!
Long-term customer (20+ years)nI've seen Crabby Joe's grow in size, menu, drinks, and popularity.nIn February 2021 - food was still good (but actually think it was better before the expanded menu). Service was also good - used to be more laid-back in a relaxed, beachy way. Now, it seems more hurried (partially, because it's much more popular, and they're trying to accommodate everyone).nnIs it the best food in the area - no (but still pretty darn good).nIs it a unique experience - yes.nIs it worth a visit - definitely
Decided to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the spectacular ocean at Crabby Joe's - we were definitely not disappointed! High tides and crashing waves made for a wonderful background as we enjoyed conversation over clam strips lunch baskets, full of plump clam strips, fresh french fries and very tasty slaw! Richard never missed an opportunity to refill our drinks. Very good prices too! Put this place on your vacay to-do list for sure!
